On his single-leading ‘Remix’, the Bristol-based producer thrillingly re-imagines the cut as a soulful house shuffler, with warming keys, heady chords, rich organ motifs and Josh Leon Wray’s superb lead vocals rising above loose-limbed garage-house beats and propulsive, Arp Odyssey bassline.
On the accompanying dub, McCabe strips things back and foregrounds his killer groove, cannily reaching for cut-up vocal snippets, warming riffs and spaced-out, effects-laden electronics.
Last Nubian (real name Tom Wright) is a London-based producer renowned for blending broken beat, deep house and organic instrumentation, while Goldbar is a Maidenhead-based keyboardist, producer and DJ with a deep rooted love of broken beat. They’re joined by South Yorkshire-raised vocalist Josh Leon Wray, a fast-rising artist with roots in soul, funk and R&B.
